Privacy Notice — Labeling Platform

1. What this notice covers

Shotwell, Inc. ("Shotwell", "we", "us") operates this labeling platform. This notice covers the people who use it: labellers, reviewers, applicants, and administrators. The shotwell.ai privacy policy covers visitors to our public website.

Customer content. Videos, sensor data, and related material that our customers give us to label are processed on those customers' behalf and are governed by our agreements with them, not by this notice.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. Name, username, email address, role, country, phone number, and, when you sign in with Google, the identifiers and email that Google shares with us.
• Applicant information. When you apply to work with us: the details you submit, your contact information, how you were referred, and how you heard about us.
• Usage information. How the platform is used, including pages viewed, annotations made, review activity, video playback interactions, timing information, IP address (including at signup), and browser type. This includes measurements we use to manage quality, training, and productivity.
• Communications. Messages you send us.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide, operate, secure, and improve the platform; to manage accounts and verify identity; to train, support, and evaluate the people who label data; to protect the confidentiality of customer content, including abuse and leak detection; to communicate with you; and to comply with law. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.

4. How we share information

• Service providers. Vendors that process data on our behalf and under our instructions, such as cloud hosting and storage, identity, AI model providers we use in our labeling and quality pipelines, and communications tools.
• Customers. Customers receive the labeling work product for their projects, which can include the account names and quality records of the people who produced or reviewed it.
• Your staffing agency. If you work through a staffing partner, we may share your work records with that partner.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Shotwell, our users, our customers, or others.
• Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this notice.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Cookies

The platform uses cookies that are essential for sign-in and session security. They are required for the platform to work.

6. Where data is processed

We are based in the United States and process and store data there. People who work with us from other countries access the platform in the United States, and by using it they understand their information is processed there.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice, including legal, security, and record-keeping needs. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to [email protected]. We will verify the request and respond as required by applicable law.

10. Age

Platform accounts require users to be at least 18.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the platform evolves. We will post the new version here and update the date above. For material changes, we will give more prominent notice.
